What is the full form of B.Ed?

The full form of BEd is - Bachelor of Education.

What is B.Ed Course?

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) is a professional degree. In this course, students are prepared to do teaching work as teachers in schools.


How long is the B.Ed course ?

BEd degree is usually of 2 years duration.

You can do B.Ed course in three ways

  1. B.Ed after 12th - If you want to do B.Ed after Inter 12th, then for this the government has started a 4-year integrated B.Ed course. This is a kind of BEd + graduation integrated course.
  2. B.Ed after Graduation – B.Ed after Graduation or Graduation is of 2 years duration. 
  3. B.Ed after Post Graduation - B.Ed after Post Graduation is of 1 year only.


Eligibility Criteria for B.Ed. Eligibility for admission to B.Ed.

If you want to do B.Ed after 12th Inter, then students who have secured 60 percent marks in 12th can apply. Relaxation is given to reserved category students as per rules.

 

If you want to do B.Ed after graduation, for this you should have at least 50% marks in your graduation. Some universities require at least 55% marks in graduation. Relaxation is given to reserved category students as per rules.


Admission process of B.Ed.

Merit of successful students is issued on the basis of merit through the entrance examination conducted by the university, after which admission is given in colleges by counseling according to the vacant seats.

Paper I 

General Knowledge - 50 

Language (English or Hindi) -50 

Total 100

Paper II 

General Aptitude 50

Related Subjects (Arts, Science, Commerce and Agriculture) 50

Total - Paper I+ Paper II =200


CUCET Syllabus for B.Ed:

Sec A: General awareness is compulsory for all (25)

Sec B: Teaching Aptitude is also compulsory for all (35)

Sec C: Exercise of the choice of the group according to his/her eligibility qualifications is the responsibility of
the candidate.

The candidate appearing for the B.Ed entrance test will have to choose only one group and
will have no option to change his subject group if once allotted.

Choosing subject group not commensurating with eligibility will disqualify the candidature at any stage.

Choice once exercised is final.

All the questions will be based on under graduate level of concerned subjects as per
UGC.

  • Social Science (40) (history, geography, political science, economics)
  • Language (40) (English, Hindi, Sanskrit)
  • Physical Science and Mathematics (40) (physics, chemistry, mathematics)
